The pressure of the blank page

A blank page has limitless possibilities, but for some reason those possibilities prevent me from getting started.

I received the most wonderful and thoughtful Christmas gift. A blank sketchbook from The Sketchbook Project. The Sketchbook Project is a crowdfunded museum of sketchbooks. Anyone can submit one. I have followed the project for a while, and had thought about participating but never told anyone, and never purchased a book.

Now I have this incredibly thoughtful gift which I have had since December and needs to be finished by August and I am stuck. Stuck for time, stuck on ideas, stuck on the pressure.

What if my ideas aren’t good? What if my drawings aren’t good? What if I make a mistake? What if people don’t like it? What if I don’t like it?

This blog post is the first step to solving my dilemma. Putting it out there into the world. This is my commitment to the project, and now you know about it I have to get my shit together and get drawing.
